This is now my complete collection of Knötel plates for Bavaria!

Grenz Pandours from MINDEN MINIATURES

I must admit that I am totally taken by the Minden Miniatures. First, the owner, Frank Hammond, is a true gentleman offering a superb service at reasonable prices. Best of all, he is totally committed to complete and even expand all of his ranges! Second, the sculptor, Richard Ansel, a master sculptor, has created a realistic style that combines accurate proportions with dynamic poses! Both are fully committed in producing complete ranges that will be as historically correct as possible, something that is lacking in many modern commercial figure manufacturers. Not surprisingly, the following Minden Miniatures enjoy is tremendous and it keeps growing.

Myself, I have decided to expand my SYW collections using Minden Miniatures to recreate the Western Theater armies of Britain, Hanover, Hesse, Brunswick, Reichsarmee, Austria, and of course the French! Needless to say, I am a shameless sock-puppet for this range, same thing I did for the Foundry SYW range by Copplestone, with only compensation accepted being the ability to purchase at full price the nicest SYW figures currently available. The fact that Frank allowed me to contribute my reference material for his consideration can only assure me that these figures will be historically accurate, something I have always looked for in a range!

So, the last addition is my most favorite of all…Austrian Grenz Pandours. Notice, please, the presence of a drummer, who was the actual musician of all light infantry regiments, save the Jägers, of the SYW era! And, why not, the superb officer in cape! More photos can be seen at the MINDEN MINIATURES website. I am also posting here some new additions to my Austrian Plates library for your use when painting these nice figures…Enjoy!

Posts RSS

You  may have noticed that the website format has been slightly different. The structure remains the same, though, so nothing has moved around! One new addition is the Posts RSS, which you will find on the bottom-right of the header image. If you click on this link, you will find a page with all recent posts. To the right, there is a column with several options. If you click at the option ‘Subscribe in Mail’, which is the second from the bottom, you will be able to be notified in your email system when new posts are available in Leuthen Journal. Go ahead and try it!
